Good luck to Coach Rossi and the South Fayette Lion Football Team! Best wishes for a great season.
The South Fayette Lady Lion Warriors were a family without a leader for a period of time. But in the family spirit of South Fayette, after the resignation of Coach Dudas, two parents, Dan Henry and Dean Mantia stepped up to the plate to help lead the summer conditioning and recreation program for girls interested in basketball throughout the summer. Dan and Dean were able to hold open gyms, which permitted the girls the opportunity to continue to work on their basketball skills as well as engage in conditioning, and practice collaboration.
This year the South Fayette Girls’ Soccer Team displays the “educational family” found in the District, more than ever. This year, five sets of sisters will be on the girls’ soccer team, led by head coach, Wayne Capra. The Girls’ and Boys’ Soccer Teams will host their kick-off tournament on Labor Day weekend in the South Fayette stadium.
On the regular meeting of the South Fayette Board of School Directors on, June 24th, Board members unanimously voted to hire Matthew Bacco as the Varsity Girls’ Basketball Coach to replace Coach Jim Dudas who resigned to accept the Head Coach position at Oakland Catholic.
Coach Bacco was an assistant Girls’ Varsity Basketball Coach at Penn Trafford High School in 2006 and 2007. He is also the Head Girls’ Basketball Coach at Penn Middle School where he has taught World History, United States History and Economics/Geography in grades 7 and 8.
South Fayette welcomes him with pride as the Varsity Girls’ Basketball coach!
