District Office Hours: Summer 2008

District Office Hours will be as follows: June 23rd through August 1st office hours will be 7:15 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  Monday – Thursday.  The South Fayette School District will be CLOSED Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Regular office hours will resume for the school year on August 4, 2008.

2008-2009 District Photo Refusal Form

Click here to download a copy of the District “Photo Refusal Form.” If you DO NOT wish for your child’s photo image to be used for inclusion in local media publications and publicity produced by the School District, then you must submit the form to your child’s school building principal. If you have children in multiple buildings, please submit a form to each building principal.

SF Athlete Named To PG West Baseball All-Stars

Congratulations to senior, Dillon Sauers, on being named to the PG West Baseball All-Stars team. This was the second year in a row for Dillon to be named to the PG West Baseball All-Star team. Dillon played shortstop for the South Fayette Lions Varsity Baseball team.

Annual Athletic Pride Day

The second annual community event will be even better than our first, with representatives from all of our athletic teams, our Little Green Machine Marching Band (the Lion Pride Organization) planning a SUPER event for Saturday, August 23rd from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. The event will feature games and activities for all ages, including a dunk tank, bingo, and many others yet to be determined. Great food from local vendors, including Roadside Ribs will be available for purchase and the evening will end with a great fireworks display!

This year’s event will also feature SOUTH FAYETTE ALUMNI.  A special reception for alumni will be held beginning at 4:30 p.m.  For alumni information contact Maureen Pedzwater at 724-603-3047.

Elementary School Construction Meetings

The South Fayette School District is conducting Elementary School Construction Meetings through the months of May and June. Various topics surrounding future construction will be discussed with members of Eckles Architecture and School Administration. For a list of topics and meeting dates click here.

Important Information Regarding Sports Physicals

Starting with the 2008-2009 sports season, physical evaluations will no longer be adequate for a calendar year, but for the school year only. All physicals must be dated after June 1, 2008, by all athletes and cheerleaders for the 2008-2009 season. Click here to read additional information.

New Immunization Regulations for 2008-2009

The Allegheny County Health Department has informed all school districts located within the county that there will be new immunization regulations for the beginning of the 2008-09 school year.  These regulations will affect all students in grades K – 12.  Click here for detailed information.

South Fayette forms Alumni Association

2007-2008 marks the beginning of the South Fayette Alumni Association (SFAA).  The graduating class of 2008 will mark the 80th anniversary of graduation ceremonies for the district.  From Lafayette School’s first graduation class of 13 (on record) to the 156 graduates of the 2007 class of South Fayette High School our alumni roster exceed 6,700+.
